Hier je me suis rendu à une rencontre flickr (flickr meet.), dans la très jolie ville de Naarden. Le temps n'étant pas vraiment de la partie - il a pleuvoté quelques minutes j'ai encore appris un truc cool. Avoir un sac plastique avec soi permet de protéger l'appareil plus facilement que de le ranger dans la sac à dos. J'ajoute donc un sac en plastique sur ma todo list.

This week marks one year of bugday for Mozilla Thunderbird. Bugdays are days where the QA team maintains and tries to clean up as much as possible the bug database for thunderbird. The result over the last year are quite impressive :
Specially what we try to achieve is get rid of old bugs, make sure bugs get the proper component and make sure they get the proper status. To celebrate we are organizing two special bug days, more information on those bug days can be found on Day1 and Day2. Feel free to join and celebrate with us on #bugday on irc.mozilla.org

A nice place to think about going.
Aujourd'hui je suis allé me promener dans l'un des parcs non loin de chez moi - en effet la dernière fois j'y avais vu deux rapaces, un grand noir et marron et un pus petit blanc rayé. Je suis donc retourné au même endroit avec cette fois-ci mon gros objectif (le 400 mm) et mon trépied. Le trépied à beau être très léger on finit par en sentir le poids. Je crois que j'ai trouvé leur nids - j'y retournerais avant que les feuilles ne poussent et n'obstruent encore plus la vue. J'étais très content d'avoir le trépied c'est un excellent accessoire lorsque l'on est en poste fixe. Je me suis donc placé pas trop loin du nid - j'ai fait attention a ne pas être en contrejour. J'ai attendu et les rapaces sont venus, j'étais trop près car ils ont mis beaucoup de temps à revenir. A retenir pour la prochaine fois :
- Prendre l'extendeur avec le 400 mm
- Mieux choisir le poste d'attente :
- avoir un nombre restreint de branche entre l'objectif et le sujet
- pouvoir me cacher derrière un arbre
- amener de quoi s'assoir l'attente est longue
Enfin je suis pas très content du résultat :
The way we maintain the bug database for Thunderbird is mainly through volunteer work. People that care enough to report bugs, people that care enough to read bugs and people that care enough to follow bugs. Helping the classification of bugs - finding duplicate bugs and making sure that all the information provided is there.
Some people who would like to join can't because :
- They think there constributions are not worth it
- Think they are going to make mistakes
- Don't have buzilla rights
- Think that their english is too bad
And that's why we organize events so people that are not too comfortable or that want help can find other users that have more experience and that are willing to help new users. We call these events bug days.
We use a wiki page to announce what the focus of the day is. We also use quality.mozilla.org to announce the events and make them available in ics format.

J'en avait parlé il y a quelques mois, ici même. C'est désormais pris en compte par musicbrainz puisque dans leur dernier billet musicbrainz explique comment ajouter des tags pour faire l'intégration entre les deux sites web. A terme cette intégration sera indentique à celle qui existe déjà entre last.fm et flickr. C'est à dire que les images postées sur flickr seront disponibles sur les pages des artiste de musicbrainz.
Interested to know before hand how the next version of Thunderbird (be that a beta release, a full release ) is going to look like ?

Well it's possible and kind of easy, the QA team of Thunderbird as setup a low traffic [1] mailing list where we announce Test days (which are
when new features get tested by a wider audience). Those announces are made when the feature is ready, and unlike on nightly builds it should be fairly stable when the announce is made.
