Une association lance une initiative citoyenne intéressante - faire prendre conscience à notre société que la sauvegarde de notre planète est importante. Pour cela il suffit d'éteindre la lumière le premier février.

Hier je me suis promené dans la capitale administrative des Pays-bas et lieu de résidence de la reine : La ville de La haye. Nommé Den Haag , elle se situe à moins de vingt minutes de train de Leyde. J'ai eut de la chance avec la pluie - il a plu lors de mon transport dans le train - mais pas pendant que je me promenai. Une jolie ville - ancienne et moderne - sans canaux. J'ai bien aimé même si j'aurais du visiter beaucoup plus de chose - mais j'y retournerais un prochain week-end histoire de.

I've been granted rights to edit http://eu.mozdev.org - which I did update. I also plan to host some of the slides from the mozilla room. The planning of the mozilla room is getting there - There will be a presentation by the maintainer of enigmail - on making extensions for Thunderbird. FireBug will be presented, but not in the mozilla room.
I will probably renew my membership to the mozilla europe association.
I'll join the Keysigning Party in order to get my keys signed.
And this year I donated to fosdem via a bank transfert before the event starts - The other years I used to give money at the event - I figured out they might need some money before it , in order to be able to better organize it.

Hier soir a eut lieu, ma deuxième leçon de Néerlandais. La méthode sur laquelle le prof. s'appuie est complètement Néerlandophone - ça change d'assimil et autre méthode. Le bon point est que cela se passe au bureau avec les collègues - il y a donc une excellente ambiance pleine de fou rires. J'ai quelques problèmes, car j'essaye de prononcer à l'Alsacienne ou à l'Allemande. Sinon la langue n'a pas l'air bien compliquée - bon en tout cas je la lit sans trop de difficultés. Le plus dur reste cependant la prononciation de la lettre G , qui est très proche du J espagnol. Vivement la prochaine leçon.

Voila que j'apprends que cette année aura lieu un festival dédié à la France en Islande. Les festivité débuterons le 22 Février 2007 et prendrons fin le 15 mai de cette même année. Ce matin je me suis fait réveillé par un coup de téléphone : une personne avec un fort accent africain - J'ai cru que c'était une de mes connaissance Ivoirienne. Non il s'agissait d'un scammeur, qui voulait savoir ce que je pensais de son excellente proposition. Bien Messieurs les scammeurs, je sais que le dollar n'est pas la monnaie reine - tout du moins en Afrique de l'Ouest. Ce n'est donc pas la peine de m'apeller pour savoir si je vais tomber dans vos pièges grossiers.

Hier j'ai eut l'agréable surprise de recevoir un mail contenant tout un tas de pièces jointes dont le sujet était l'Isande. J'ai répondu à la personne en lui indiquant que si elle voulait diffuser un peut plus largement son travail, la liste de diffusion l'Islande me semblait un lieu tout approprié, une heure plus tard tout était sur la liste et ces archives. Cela faisait un petit moment que nous n'avions pas eut de messages aussi intéressant. L'année commence donc plutôt bien.

Ici c'est vraiment le pays du vélo. Tout est prévu pour le cycliste, que se soit les routes, les pistes cyclables, les parking à vélos. Bon il faut dire que la géographie locale aide beaucoup - c'est plat, très très plat. Comme c'est plat pédaler n'est pas difficile - le seul truc chiant sur le vélo c'est le vent et de temps en temps la pluie. Pour la pluie il suffit de s'équiper et hop cela n'est plus un problème. Pour le vent on ne peut vraiment pas faire grand chose. J'ai fait du vélo sur une machine équipée d'un dispostif de réétro pédalage
Tous les vélos sont équipé d'un anti-vol de base, qui bloque la roue arrière lorsqu'on enlève la clef qui se trouve dans l'antivol. Mais cela ne semble pas suffisant car la plupart des personnes possèdent aussi une chaine et un cadenas.
La municipalité d'Amsterdam achète tous les ans un certains nombre de vélo, qui sont peints en orange et qui sont mis gracieusement à la disponibilité des habitants. L'idée est sympatique mais les gens ne prennent pas soins de ces vélos car il faut en remplacer tous les ans.

Les routes et les trotoirs sont équipés pour que l'on puisse facilement se déplacer sur un deux-roues - il y a moyen de relier Amsterdam à La Haye en n'umpruntant que des pistes cyclables - et celle-ci ne font pas de détours.

de Colin Farrell. Un film qui raconte l'installation de colon dans le nouveau monde sur une période assez longue - l'histoire est nulle. Le montage est vraiment en dessous de tout. La seule chose de bien : quelques paysages joliment filmés.

Pour ceux qui ont raté la chose Apple a annoncé un téléphone-PDA-Ipod et un changement de nom. Rien de révolutionnaire, cela existe depuis un certain temps chez pas mal de concurrents. Deux choses cependant retiennent mon attention, l'iphone est capable de faire du GSM et du Wifi en même temps - on peut donc basculer vers une application de type SIP en présence de réseau. Et c'est un très bon point, nokia ne possède pas dans sa gamme une machine équivalente. Le deuxième point est la présence d'OS X sur cet appareil - C'est excellent pour les machines desktops - car cela va attirer un grand nombre de développeurs sur la plateforme si le téléphone a un peut de succès. Une question cependant me tarabuste, quel processeur anime cette petite machine ? Les spécification ne mentionnent rien sur le sujet.

Jean-Marc se plaint de l'outil proposé par Apple pour migrer son profil lors du changement de machine. Ma méthode à moi est des plus simple, je ne l'utilise pas et je profite de mon changement de machine pour faire le ménage sur mes disques durs. Mais je suis un peut particulier les seuls données que j'ai à migrer sont mes emails - et mes signets. Pour les signets j'ai pris l'habitude récemment d'utiliser del.icio.us - et je pense qu'à mon prochain changement de machine je n'aurais plus le soucis de migrer les signets. Ma collection de MP3 est inexistante - pour l'instant je n'utilise pas d'outil pour gérer mes photos - donc je n'ai pas grand chose a migrer.

De Philippe Bouin. La suite des aventures de Dieudonné Danglet qui le mène de Bourgogne en Angleterre. Dieudonné est chargé secrètement par M. de La Reynie de protéger un enfant dont nul ne doit voir le visage - Tout en devant déjouer un complot républicain. L'intrigue est fort simple - vraiment , on ne peut pas faire plus simple, mais la narration la rend assez mystérieuse et l'on en devine pas la fin. J'aime bien le sujet choisi - l'homme au masque de fer, il est en lui même source de mystère, et l'auteur ne se cache pas d'avoir pris de grandes liberté avec l'histoire. L'histoire est découpée en deux partie - la première a pour effet de protéger l'enfant et de déjouer le complot - la deuxième partie étant consacré au masque et son secret. Le style est superbe - les images utilisées pour décrires les scène et sont très poétique - c'est le style et la forme que j'ai apprécié dans ce livre plutôt que l'histoire. Bref je recommande chaudement.

Wii rocks - Zoja brought hers at work today. We played tennis (see those on daily motion). Here is one video of me playing Wii box. I was thinking about not buying one, but now that's one thing I'm sure about. I'm gona buy a wii.

As some of you may know I work in the QA department at the Venice Project. Up until recently I was the QA department by myself. This is no longer true. We do all our testing manually which is bad - because humans do fail - whereas software is predictable and will always fails the same way.
Up until now we are using Confluence to track our work and our test cases and testings. But this has limits. I would like to add steps to our buildbots build processes to do unit testing and keep track of those - and I would love to keep track of the memory and disk footprint used by our application. There are a few plug-in for confluence that I could use, but they are more oriented in a manual reporting - people click to say if test was successful or not - this is not really compatible with the use of bots to do unit testing. I've done my bits of googling and found many pages describing software that might achieve what I want. I also asked my question on usenet - and up to now had one answer giving me the name of the type of software I'm looking for and a link to a german study/comparison of those pieces of software. Still I would love to get live feedback about the usage of such software so I could make a choice. My needs are :

• Document test cases.
• Write test plans.
• Track test plans - manual testing - .
• Get input data from external source to track what my bots are doing.
• Be Able to track performance for clients (memory, disk footprint).
• Be Able to track performance for Server applications (Stress testing, memory usage, cpu usage)

I need to be able to extract reports on a weekly basis, and do some stats on at least an annual basis (choosing from month y to month x - see the number of test runs, with failure/pass, memory usage changes over a long period etc ...).

Integration with svn, Jira are pluses.

I'm Smokey Ardisson and I'm one of Camino's catch-all people. I currently live in Washington, DC, across the street from the Vice President of the US.
<_tsk_> How old are you ? what is your normal daily occupation besides Camino ?
I'm 29 years old and I've been a doctoral student in Middle Eastern and African History. I also moonlight doing various tasks for my family's businesses.
<_tsk_> Can you define your catch-all role ?
Officially, I'm the co-lead of the Bug Triage team and of the Website and Documentation team, so I filter through all the bug reports that come in each day, reproducing and prioritizing them, and I'm involved in stuff like writing the release notes and updating the Support section of the website.
In addition to that, I test patches, occasionally make patches, help maintain Camino's ad-blocking rule set, keep an eye on our Mac OS X 10.3 compatibility, answer questions on irc, and generally do whatever other little tasks come up and need attention.
<_tsk_> Is 10.3 important for you if so why ?
Well, I'm still running 10.3.9, partially because I typically skip every other major OS revision, and partially because Camino and other open source projects I work with needed someone to keep testing things on their lowest supported OS version. (Most bugs aren't specific to OS versions, but every once in a while you'll run across one, and it's very hard to decipher until you realize everyone who sees the problem is on one version of the OS.)"
<_tsk_> Good, so can you tell us what your Hardware/Software setup looks like ?
I've got a 17" Aluminum PowerBook G4, 1.33 GHz, from fall 2003. No upgrades to it other than I now have 1.5 GB of RAM.
<_tsk_> And what are the other projects you are working on ?
I'm mainly involved with NeoOffice, the Mac-native version of OpenOffice.org, and libwpd, which is the open source library for reading WordPerfect documents, but I've also submitted some small patches and a couple of bug reports for AbiWord as a result of my libwpd testing (NeoOffice, OpenOffice.org, AbiWord, KOffice, and a couple of commercial Mac apps all use libwpd for their WordPerfect and WordPerfect for Mac import filter).
<_tsk_> How long have you been a member of the Camino community ? why did you join ? was it difficult to become a "member" ?
I didn't have a Mac running Mac OS X until I got this PowerBook, so I'm relatively late to the game. I vaguely remember installing Camino after I got the PowerBook because I had heard so many good things about Chimera in the early days of Mac OS X (and had briefly played with whatever version of Chimera was current in spring 2002 on my brother's iMac), but I didn't use Camino much.
I started using Camino a bit in the summer of 2004 (0.8b), and when I got to play with test builds with the "new" tabs that fall, I started using Camino more. Shortly after the tabs landed in the nightly builds, I started using nightly builds and started filing bugs and hanging out in the forum.
In mid-2005 Samuel Sidler asked me officially to join the Camino team as co-lead of the bug triage team, and it went from there. I didn't actually show up on irc until December 2005. In spite of not being on irc, it was easy to join the team, but I've discovered it's easier to be more involved if you stop by irc at least a few times a week.
<_tsk_> How long have you been using Macs ? computers ?
I've been using Macs since the summer of 1993, when I first experienced them at a summer program (I took a mini-class on HyperCard!); we got our first Mac, a used SE/30, that fall. I really can't remember when I first actually *used* a computer, but I've been around them since I was very young; I remember my dad had a terminal at home and a modem where you actually put the phone headset into the modem, and I remember playing simple games on the VAX system at his office (which used reel tapes!).
<_tsk_> Anything you would like to add ?
One of the best things about working on open source software has been the international flavour, meeting and working together with people from all around the world. Open source software is a good thing for the world politically as well as socially and economically. And of course as Triage co-lead I must remind all the Camino users reading this to be good nightly build users: file bugs on problems you find and help make Camino even better ;)
