Extension idea for thunderbird

I would like to be able to quote messages in Thunderbird the same way gnus does something looking like :

Toto Goa wrote :
TG> yadayada hhjh
TG> hjhjhjhjhjjhj

I think this can be done via an extension. Would be nice to have such thing.

I agree to Daniel, in my long years of reading various mailing lists, the posts with this kind of quotes were the hardest to read.

Daniel I agree with you. But on some ocasions I would love to be able to use such a feature. But Yes it need to be an extension and only an extension.

Someone is using this way of quoting messages in CSS WG mailing-list. It's _very_ painful, because instead of adding 2 chars to quoted lines, it adds four, and the visibility of the whole thing is reduced when you answer to a long thread of messages. Yeah, an extension would be fine, but please please please never add that to the trunk as a default feature :-) Far too geeky.
